Part of the women's team that finished in 5th place at Glasgow 2014, Cara Kennedy competed in her second Games in Gold Coast alongside Commonwealth Youth Games teammate from 2011, Shannon Archer, 18 year-old Izzy Tolometti and 17 year-old Sofia Ramzan. Cara went on to achieve a 9th place finish in the Individual All-Around event and 7th in the Vault final. Cara also competed in the Team Event helping the team secure a 5th place finish.
Since 2014 Cara has shown incredible resilience, coming come through three ankle surgeries and an achilles injury to be back at her best for the Gold Coast 2018 Games. 2017 saw her win bronze in the Team Event at the Northern European Championships and win All-Around and Team gold at the Home Internationals, despite beginning the year with that third surgery. Both Cara's parents represented Scotland; her mother in volleyball and her father in cricket.
