Laura Muir
Laura competed in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, but missed out on Gold Coast in 2018 to concentrate on her veterinary medicine exams.
She made history in 2016 when she broke Kelly Holmes’ British 1500m record with a time of 3:55.22, and went on to finish seventh at the Olympic Games in Rio that year.
She won the 1500m title at the 2018 European Championships in Berlin, the first British woman ever to do so, as well as picking up silver and bronze medals at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham.
She defended both 1500m and 3000m titles at the 2019 European Indoor Championships in Glasgow, following her initial triumph in Belgrade in 2017.
She set a Scottish 800m record of 1.56.73 in 2021 before going on to break her own British 1500m record to win silver at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
