Competing at his first Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast 2018, Kelvin took bronze in the Team Event alongside Daniel Purvis, Frank Baines, Hamish Carter and David Weir.
Kelvin took his first senior All-Around title at the 2017 Scottish Artistic Gymnastics Championships following a decorated career in the junior ranks. He took three gold at the 2016 Scottish Junior Championships, including retaining his All-Around title from the previous year. He went on the place 7th in the All-Around at the British Junior Championships, also making the floor final where he finished 5th, and capped a great year with a bronze medal in the Team Event at the Northern European Championships.
