Top Male: Scotland’s top athletes of the 1934 Games were swimmers William Francis and Norman Hamilton. Each won a gold medal – William in the 100yds Backstroke and Norman in the 200yds Breaststroke – before teaming up to win silver for Scotland in the 3 x 110yds Medley Relay alongside Merilees Chassels.
Top Female: Margot Hamilton was the top Scottish female athlete at the Games with a silver in the 100yds Backstroke and bronze alongside Margaret McCallum and Jean McDowell in the 3 x 110yds Medley Relay.
Top Sport: Swimming was Scotland’s top sport with 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals. Athletics contributed the most medals winning 10 – 1 gold, 1 silver and 8 bronze.
Repeat Medallists: Three athletes were repeat medallists – Duncan Wright, William Francis and Jean McDowell.
