Alex made his Commonwealth Games debut at Gold Coast 2018, reaching the quarter-finals of both the Men's Doubles and Mixed Team Event. He returns for a second Games at Birmingham 2022.
With doubles partner Adam Hall he won gold at the 2019 Scottish Open, the first Scottish winners of the Men's Doubles title since 1983.
Alex is the youngest male player to represent Scotland at senior level and is Scotland's most successful player at the European Junior Championships, winning silver in Mixed Doubles in 2017 and bronze in Men's Doubles in 2015.
