Alison Thomson
Gold Coast was Alison's first Commonwealth Games where she played Women's Doubles alongside Lisa Aitken, as well as the Singles event. She started 2018 by winning silver at the British U23 Open and reaching the quarterfinals on the Edinburgh Sports Club Open, building on a 2017 season which saw her take double gold at the Scottish Championships; in both Women's and Mixed Doubles.
Alison's dad was a professional squash player, representing Scotland over 160 times at senior and master's level - the highest capped player of all-time in Scotland. Her sister was a gymnast on the Great Britain squad.
