Inspired by watching Team Scotland's record breaking performance at Glasgow 2014, Fiona made history of her own as one of the first judoka to compete for Team Scotland at a Youth Games, as the sport made its debut at Bahamas 2017. With an assured performance she took silver in the 48kg category, one of four judo medals for Scotland on the opening day of competition. Silver medallist at both the British Cadet Championships and British Junior Championships in 2016, Fiona carried her form into 2017 with gold at the English Cadet Open and bronze at both the Northern Ireland Open and when competing up a weight category at the Matsumae Cup in Denmark.
