Competing at his first Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast 2018, Hamish won bronze in the Team Event alongside Daniel Purvis, Frank Baines, Kelvin Cham and David Weir. He took 6th in the Individual All-Around final before taking 4th place on Floor and 8th on High Bar to round out a fantastic Games debut.
Gold medallist at the 2015 European Youth Olympic Festival and silver medallist at the 2013 World School Games, both in the the Team competition, Hamish was a regular visitor to the British Championships podium as a junior gymnast. He stepped up to the senior age-group in 2017, coming away with two bronze medals in his first competition at this level.
Success at the 2017 Northern European Championships followed as he took four medals, including All-Around bronze and gold on Floor.
Hamish took 6th place in the men's horizontal bar at Commonwealth Games 2022.
