Competing at his first Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast 2018, Mark struck silver in the 400m Individual Medley behind Australian home favourite Clyde Lewis, before going on to take bronze as part of the 4 x 200m Freestyle Relay team. He also finished just outside the medals in the 200m IM, taking 4th place. He added a second 4 x 200m Freestyle Relay bronze at Birmingham 2022, also reachng the finals of both the 200m and 400m Individual Medley.
Mark made his first appearance for Team Scotland at the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games where he won bronze in the 200m Individual Medley, silver in the 4 x 100m Medley Relay and took a further three 4th place and two 5th place positions. He went on to win two medals at the 2013 European Junior Championships and had a fantastic 2017 season, winning gold and bronze at the NCAA Championships and earning selection for his first World Championships.
