Matthew has played doubles with his twin brother Christopher since they were six. After joining the senior national team at the age of 17, the twins have attained the men's doubles title at 2021 Scottish Open, and won the Scottish Nationals.
He made his Commonwealth Games debut at Birmingham 2022, finishing ninth in Men's Doubles with his brother and fifth in the Team Event.
