Safeguarding

Team Scotland is committed to promoting the wellbeing of athletes, to allow them to enjoy a positive experience within Team Scotland, the Commonwealth Games and sport, encouraging lifetime participation.

We are also committed to providing continuous support, training and guidance to our staff within this area.

Child Wellbeing & Protection Officers

It is a constitutional requirement for us to appoint a Child Wellbeing & Protection Officer (CWPO). The CWPOs are the main point of contact for all safeguarding concerns during the Games.

Team Scotland Games Time Safeguarding Guidance

Team Scotland is fully committed to safeguarding the welfare of all Team Members. We recognise our responsibility to promote safe practice and to protect all from harm, poor practice, bullying, abuse and exploitation. We will work together to embrace differences and diversity and respect the rights of all members of Team Scotland.

This guidance applies to all Team Scotland team members and aims to:

* Support our team members and create a healthy and happy team environment

* Allow everyone to feel respected, safe and free from any prejudice

* Ensure everyone feels appreciated and is treated fairly

* Provide the structure for raising concerns, procedures for dealing with them and who to contact

Throughout Games time, Team Scotland is committed to ensuring a balanced environment supporting the best sporting performances and a positive life experience.
